About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn more about the plot of the book and its characters. First, we're introduced to David and his assistant, christina. They're in the middle of writing the book's first chapter, and they're all excited about the day they've just witnessed. David's excited because it's been a long time since he's seen anything like this. He's also excited because he wants to tell his biographer about it. But first, he'd like to say a few words about what's happened to his book. First off, he tells us that the witches' blade has corrupted his masterpiece. He says that the seven keys in the Bible are the keys to the underworld, and that whoever has all seven keys will end the world. David says that he always wanted to see Jesus, but now he can't see how he could possibly meet him. He also says that nottingham's witchblade has forced itself upon him, which means that there's nothing he can do to prevent it from happening. David also tells his assistant that he'll cover him if he needs help, but if he wants help, he can ask for it. Then he says that this whole thing is his "contrivance," and that he specifically asked him not to allow it to happen under any "circumstantial sinchron" stances. He adds that he doesn't want his assistant to be ranting and raving so much, because he knows that this is the end of the human race, and he knows there'll be no way for him to stop it. So, he says, he has to try and control it. And then he adds that the whole "human race" is a "sham" , because everyone is shocked and surprised by the events of the day
