About This Chapter
Sara tells us that she's the bearer of the "witchblade," a weapon that allows her to "balance the light and darkness." She's not an outlaw, she says, but she doesn't have enough skin on her bones to keep her sex drive alive. She'd tried using the blade to help the cops track down the killer, but the cops in Chicago weren't too keen on the idea. Sara goes home and apologizes to Jane. She says she'll get her a refund. She finds a place to dig for more money. The music in the room sounds like a "box of screws" dumped in a blender to her. Real arcanists hide in these places so they can justify their bad decisions. They can justify everything they make. Sara says she didn't fall in love with the guy in the chain mail dress. She was there to "reel her in" . She smokes a cigarette and puts in a "sabbath" to feed her flesh. She sees the killer emerge from the white tent. She hides behind a tree and waits for him.
