About This Chapter
"In the Darkness" The narrator opens the chapter by saying that he's a cop and that he doesn't have visitors. He introduces himself as "Detective gleason" . He's got a secret that he brought back with him from the church. He tells the audience that it was a conspiracy by a "slacker" within the church, and that the whole thing came out "right in the end" , or he wouldn't show up at the precinct to talk to the guy. He says he'd rather not show up, because he thinks he'll have to wait until he finds out that he is a good kisser before he can ask for a reward. He also says that the job is not paying him enough to listen to him, so he needs to ask just a mask. He then tells us that he just got a call about Jake, who's been in a coma for a few days. The narrator says that Jake's in a good place now, and he can show the doctor what happened to him.
