About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the police officer who investigated Cymbeline's death was the closest person to the crime scene that he ever came to. The police officer, Jake Mccarthy, is now the medical examiner for the city of Huntington Beach, California, and he is very sorry that his daughter has been murdered. He says that he would rather find out the truth about the crime than live with the pain of knowing his daughter's murderer. He asks the taxi driver to come over to his house and talk to him. He wants to know where he can see him. The taxi driver says that the situation is under control, but that he hopes that Jake will stop eavesdropping on his conversations with his followers. Jake says that it is not his fault that his followers need to know what he is up to. He tells them that he has helped a young man from San Diego see the light and that he intends to find the person who is responsible for the death of Elvis. He threatens to take his followers to the county if they continue to ignore him.
