In the midst of the commotion, a disembodied voice calls out to the two young men to be quiet and not to worry about their safety. The young men, however, do not heed the warning and continue to search for their way out of the city. They are met by the sound of a thud, which they interpret as a warning from the heavenly realm. The two men realize that they are in danger of being killed by the two men, and they rush out to find a way to escape. The boy, who they call "wu yazi," explains that he is an eighty-year-old demon and that he and the other young men are at the "heavenly fate level" because they have gone outside the city to meet him.
