In this short scene, Zong's father-in law, also known as the city lord, is furious with Zong for allowing his soul to be "sealed within the soul-puppet" . Zong blames himself for the incident and apologizes for his behavior. He says that if he had not taught Zong the seven heart-cultivation technique back in heaven, he would not have been able to accomplish what he has today. The city lord tells Zong that he will kill the brat if he tries to force Zong to do anything against his will.
