This chapter opens with a soliloquy by Hu, in which he tells us that he has heard a lot about his brother, but that someone has told him that he is a "piece of sh*t" and that he should be beaten. He says that he had argued with one of the skysoul scholars and had even fought him, but he was not a match for the other. He then goes on to say that the other scholars were trying to frame him out of nowhere and that they were afraid of him in the future, trying to beat him while he is still in the "heavenly fate realm" . He tells us to learn to respect senior scholars in the sky-soul institute. He compares the size of the soul scales to the diameter of a spear and says that they are too big for him to kill. He also says that his strength is just "mediocre" because he has cheated to collect so many souls.
