The chapter opens with a discussion of the possibility of a larger demon horde in the future. The narrator tells us that this is a very high possibility, and that he plans to set a plan for how to deal with it. He asks his little brother what he thinks of the outside world, and he tells him that he has lived in the furthest part of the city since he was born. He tells his brother that there is a sacred mountain range that stretches thousands of miles outside the city walls, with some human villages. There is also a sacred forest and a sacred spirit bay that were taken over by the demons. There are other worlds as well, and the narrator says that he can't really see them all in his lifetime. He was an orphan who suffered from being mocked, but he managed to be in the place he is now because of his looks. He says that many friends he has but none were a confidante he's been fighting his whole life yet he did not know what it was for. His little brother asks him if glory city will fall to the demons, and if so, he asks that he be killed and burned so that the demon horde will not eat his body.
