This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the young mistress of the mansion. She tells the audience that she is taking care of her master and that he is helping the city of glory. He tells her that he has been dead for a thousand years and that the dark guild is still fighting even though the city is on the brink of extinction. The young mistress tells him that she has found the lair where the dark lord and his followers are hiding. The elder brother tells the mistress that they have found out that the master has been poisoned with the herb draconic. He says that the men in the mansion claimed that he was sick and that they would be dead within nine days, but the truth is that the elder brother has won the battle.
