The silverwing tribe, the first generation patriarch of the Wunlun Empire, has transplanted his wings of the thunderbird into the body of his own son. The patriarch is a member of the Silverlight family, a tribe that has been living in the area for thousands of years. He explains that his ancestors fled from the empire during the "dark age" when demon beasts destroyed the land. Since then, the Silverwing family has not been able to contact the outside world, so they welcome the dark world with open arms.
