In this chapter, we learn that the Celestial Qilins want to take the body of a human, but they do not want to kill him. They want to transform him into a "demon spirit" so that he can enter the realm of the Celestial. The reason why they can do this is because the Celestial knows that the humans will die if they are allowed to live.
