This chapter opens with a description of the "demon spiritualist" . The demon spiritualist is described as a kind of "legend" or "supernatural" person. He is a person who has attained a certain level of power through his or her cultivation techniques. The doll and the brat are described as being similar in that they have similar cultivation techniques, but they are also very old. The old man is the founder of the snow-wind family, a family of winged dragons, and he is also known as the ancestor of the thunder-god family. He asks the doll to teach him the lightning dragon technique, which is a very powerful technique. He tells the brat to show him the "broken cultivation techniques" and he will teach him ten powerful techniques.
