About This Chapter
Ning'er tells her father that he's always been sensible, and that he hopes that he can contribute to the revival of the family. He says that he used his own money to buy purple mist herb, and he wonders if it's because the family needs the herb. He wonders why she doesn't just give it over to the family when they need it. He also wonders if she's learned to talk back, and wonders when she learned to do so. He tells her that if she gave the herb to the whole family, they wouldn't need to rely on the family anymore, and they'd be able to marry without having to marry fei anymore. Ning-er agrees with elder Xiao-yi that this herb can benefit the entire family, and she also agrees that it would be a good idea to marry someone from the sacred family, since that's where the money will come from. She also says that she bought the herb for her friend long before the herb's price went up, and has given it to the friend ever since. She wonders if this friend is an excuse for why he can't give the herb back to them, and asks if he has a good reason for not giving it back. He asks if they can ask his friend for it, and if he would give it to them. He then wonders if they could ask him for the herb if his background is not great.
