In this chapter, the Master explains that he has come up with an idea that will allow the young man to "safely get out" of the "black spring" much sooner than he had anticipated. He tells the boy that he will convince his sister once that he is able to rebuild her body. The Master then instructs the boy to "study about the Law of Light" and to "clear his mind" so that he can "sense it much quicker" .
