The chapter opens with a description of the magic bottle, which contains the blood of a demon beast. It is a perfect tool to use against a demon of gold rank or below. The narrator explains that the bottle contains a rare ore called "a scarlet blood crystal." The crystal can be refined and used to increase a demon's rank. One can also seal the crystal within a lower-level demon beast's body to increase its growth rate. After this process, however, the beast will become aggressive. This is why the scarlet ghosts attack on sight. He speculates that the creator of the magical bottle only captured a few scarlet ghosts, sealed them with the crystals, and left the rest to their descendants. He wonders why there is only one crystal in the entire room. He thinks that the person who created the room must have wanted to use the crystal on something as strong as a scarlet ghost. He imagines that he must have been able to obtain a large number of the crystals from the bottle. He then imagines a way to use these crystals to increase one's own soul energy.
