The chapter opens with a discussion between two male demons, one of whom is seriously injured. He refuses to go along with the plan of the winged dragon family. He tells the other male demons that he will not become a slave to the family. The other male tells him that he has only one man to rely on, and that man is his fiancee, who is also seriously wounded in the fight. The two men agree that it is better for the family to send the wounded man back to his family rather than send him home without healing him. They also agree that if the family goes against them, then they will have to leave.
