In this chapter, the reader is introduced to a new character, a young man named Niel li. He is the first person the reader has encountered who is not a demon or a demon-possessor, but rather an exceptionally human being. Niel's power of law is so powerful that he is able to "snortle under the influence" of it for a short period of time, but he is unable to resist it long enough to "encrypt our run-e barrier" . As he continues to use the law, however, his "soul ocean" grows larger and larger, and he feels that he has "almost been absorbed" by the man.
