This chapter's epigraph comes from a soliloquy in which the hero laments the loss of his life. He laments that he has been betrayed by his wife and that his family's legacy has been destroyed. He feels that he should have prepared himself for the consequences of his decision to betray his wife, but he does not know what to do now that she has betrayed him. He resolves to take out Guizhou and glory city.
