In this chapter, we learn that Du-ze's demon beast is a heavenly thunder cloud, which means that it is a perfect demon spirit. This is why he is chained up in this dungeon. He asks what the rank of this heavenly qilin is, and the old man tells him that spiritual gods are equal to heaven and that even the weakest ones could grow up to the stage of dao of a dragon. The old man also tells Du-Ze that he should kill him to seize his spirit.
