In this chapter, Ming tells the Snow Queen that she owes him a favor. He tells her that the Heavenly Marks family is proud of the fact that a young man named Ni-Ling can beat a young master named Shen-Xiao. He also tells Ming that the patriarch is out of his isolation and that the doors are now opening for him. Ming tells him that he has lost a fortune in a bet with the Heavenly marks family and that he should forgive her. Ming reminds the patriarch that he is the main affair elder of the clan and that according to the clan rules, he should be punished. The patriarch says that he will let Ming go for now, but that he must redeem himself. He wants Ming to take some of the men from the dark guild to get rid of Ni-Li. The city lord has decided to protect the young man because the guild has been attacking him frequently. Ming says he will obey the patriarchs orders and send him out of the town.
