This chapter opens with a flashback to the events of the previous chapter. The flashback shows that Arthur is in the midst of a battle with Chaos, and that the monster is trying to kill him. The monster is the one who challenged Chaos to a fight, but lost, and was thus sealed away by Arthur. Arthur is now the target of the monster's attack, and the monster recognizes him as his true identity. The two men eat a delicious meal, and Arthur exclaims that he will return to his master when the "holy sword" has been fulfilled. The scene ends with a soliloquy by Arthur, in which he says that he chose this path himself and will protect his master even if it means his life.
