About This Chapter
In this chapter, we get a brief description of what it's like to be killed by a demon. The narrator tells us that even the ancient demons were afraid of being killed, but that doesn't mean that they're not afraid of death. He says that he's going to give the guy who killed the old man a choice: he can either kill the old guy or he can kill the new guy. The old guy is going to get the choice, and the narrator says he'll kill him. He thanks the guy for the meal, and then he asks the guy where he is. The guy says he was supposed to kill Zhivago, but now he feels so happy that he can't believe it. He tells the guy that even if he dies soon, he won't be afraid, because the strength of a dead person's attachment to life will bring him back to life. He introduces us to the seven "deadly sins," which are pride, anger, gluttony, greediness, and gluttony. He's sorry that he was born with such a strong body, but he says that this guy is a "real piece of work" . He then asks the guys where they are, and they say that they don't want to talk about anything. He asks them if they'd like to see him again, but they say they've got work to do. He wants to get rid of the old guys, and he wants them to leave him alone. He also asks them to stop worrying about the bar, and says that now's the time not to worry about it.
