The chapter opens with a description of the "deadly sins" of the vampire, the dozing "god of death" , and the "puppet demon" . This is a reference to the "lion sin of pride," the "curse of the diamond class holy knight," and "the deadly sins" "the dozing God of Death." The narrator explains that the vampire is using a "peculiar nebula" to draw the vampire's attention away from them. The vampire will be able to see their attack coming, but he will be unable to time his own counter attack. The narrator then explains how the vampire was able to foresee their attack, and how they should have been able to camouflage their presence by using an "expansive explosion of magic." The vampire, however, is not able to do this because he is blinded by the "hotel slash flaw." He says that he has a duty to defeat the vampire.
