The chapter ends with a soliloquy from the king. He laments the fact that his people have suffered so much during the war, and that they will have to live for the rest of their lives. He says that he already has plans for rebuilding the kingdom, and wishes that margaret would stay away from his deserts. The king tells the men that he is sorry to hear that they have found Nemo alive, but he says that Nemo should not live recklessly, as he will soon start a family. He tells them to watch where they are going, as Nemo will have it hard, too. puola tells them that elizabeth is worried about Nemo, because Nemo is weak and will die before he can face a strong opponent. They return to the tavern, where they find that the tavern is running dry of alcohol.
