In this chapter, Desdemona tries to get her brother to tell her something, but he doesn't want to listen to her. He tells her that he's tired of listening to her, and that she's not giving him the time of day. She tells him that she wishes she could talk to her brother like a normal human being would talk to a friend. He says that he wishes he could talk about things like how to kill an enemy or how to travel to a different part of the demon world. She says that she wants to talk about what she likes to drink or what kind of a girl she is. She wants to sleep on his lap, and he says that's all he needs to do.
