In this chapter, we learn that the holy knights are protecting a wanted criminal, and they are turning their swords against the captain. The captain had no choice, she says, but to protect the man who had been abandoned by his father. The holy knights, she tells us, are trying to convict evil, and show the people. She tells us that if her father hadn't gone missing, her brother would have been killed by her hands. She says that she'll forget the whole thing, and she's going to get revenge on her father. She's not going to let her brother die at her hands, he tells her. He says that he's a little late in introducing himself, but he'll tell us soon enough. He's got a lot to prove, he says, and he wants to prove that his magical power is compatible with his military rule. He wants to take on the captain and the cardinal, but the twister won't be able to stop him. They're going to have to fight it out in the middle of nowhere, and nobody will recognize their faces. They don't want to involve innocent bystanders, they say, because they've been told not to do so by the captain himself. They say that the captain has given them an order to fight the cardinal and the captain, and that the cardinal has the right to order such a thing. He doesn't even know that the king is supposed to sign such an order. He just wants to do what's right.
