About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that Martiros's brother, Gerharde, is a member of the Ku Klux Klan. He is also the leader of the local chapter of the organization, which is dedicated to the extermination of all forms of prejudice and intolerance. He tells his brother that he was once a childhood friend of his who was picked on and killed by the town's stigma. Martiros explains that he and three friends were hunting in the mountains when they were attacked by the townspeople, who killed everyone in the town except one demon who had been brought back from the battlefield by Martiros and his friends. He says that he, Martiros, and three of his friends improved their sword skills so that they would be able to kill all of the townspeople who were associated with the stigma. Now that they have had their revenge, he asks Martiros to explain it to his brother, who will probably not hesitate to kill him
