When the group arrives at the holy land, they are disappointed to find that they have not yet been trained to fight. They are told to leave their weapons and equipment behind, but they refuse to do so. They hear a voice, which they assume is the voice of the god Desses, telling them to choose one of them to fight again. They do not believe that they will be able to defeat Desdemona, who is stronger than any of them. They learn from howzer that it is better to fight by conventional means, rather than by surprise.
