About This Chapter
The innkeeper tells the boy that he is going to chase away the main attraction of the tavern. The boy tells the innkeeper that he has a question for him. He wants to know what crime he is guilty of. The innkeeper says that society has him all wrong. He says that the tavern will no longer have to compete with the other taverns for the patronage of its patrons. He adds that the boy was not a holy knight, but a "jerk knight." The boy says that he once climbed a tree to scare a man, but the man fell and got injured. The young man says that if his father had died, he would have been raised like one of his own. He tells the story of how he once told a lie to a man in the garden, and the man found out, fell, and got hurt. Now, the boy says, he will pull out his sword and everyone will watch the show together.
