The chief hendrick and his son find the corpse of the demon in the forest after it has been burned down by the fairy king twenty years ago. The chief tells the son that they did not come to see the demon, but that he would grant them a new chance. The son tells the chief that one of the crows that were feeding on the demon was one of them, and when they recovered it, they found the corpses of hundreds of crows around it. He says that he has never felt anything like this before, and that he is beginning to feel his magic powers. He asks the son why he has come to the flea market, and the chief tells him that they have come to find a sacred weapon. He tells the boy that the festival is about to begin, and he wants to get out of the way before he gets hurt
