About This Chapter
In this short scene, we are introduced to a young girl named Elizabeth, who has just returned from the Seven Deadly Sins battlefield. She has been wounded by a bugbite, and she is grateful for the knight's kindness. She asks the knight to take her back to the town where she was born, so that she can thank him for saving her life. The knight tells her that two of his comrades have been killed by the bugbites, and once he kills one of them, he will kill four of the "wretched kind" that they have killed on the face of the earth. The young girl wonders why the knight has been so kind to her, and wonders if he has forgotten who he was five years ago, when he was so small. She wonders if the two of them think the other is a holy knight. Elizabeth tells the young girl that she came across the bug bite on her way to the battlefield, and that she is scared, but that she will not die. She tells the girl to get away from everyone, and the girl does so. The girl wonders how sincere Elizabeth's words really are, and asks if she has been left on her own, and if she is being cruel to the girl. Elizabeth replies that she was protecting the girl, even if she had to sacrifice her own life for her. Elizabeth wonders if it is true that the knight had rubbed the bug on the girl's nose, and then she wonders if this must mean that the other was the one who had turned the two on. Elizabeth reveals that she has put the bug under hypnosis to make the girl look normal.
