In this chapter, we are introduced to a number of characters, including Arthur, Desdemona, Lucentis, and Desdemonas's father, the Holy Knight. We learn that Arthur has been sent by the king of France to find out what has happened to the Seven Deadly Sins. He has found out that the seven sins have infiltrated the city and locked them up in the dungeon of the castle. . The Holy Knight is shocked to learn that his son has lost the battle and is now stuck in the castle dungeons. He is also shocked to hear that the sound of the battle has come from a half mile away between the castle and Eliza's house. He wonders if the holy knight has been able to pick up on the sound coming from the castle's walls. He also wonders whether the holy knights have been trying to steal money from the royal coffers.
