About This Chapter
Helbram tells us that he's heard that the guy who picked up the guy from the forest was from the fairy folk. He's not sure if that's true or not, but he does know that it's a dirty helmet. He also says that he doesn't understand why the guy is so upset about what happened--he's just like everyone else. He says that if the guy wants to understand, then he should wrap the girl in his breast pocket and keep her there. He adds that the girl means so much to him that he can't bear to watch her being broken. He tells the guy not to tell anyone about what's going on, but to just sit and watch as the giant is torn up from the tree. He calls him a "worthless fairy king" and says that the holy tree is on his side. The guy claps and claps, and then he says that this isn't a tree at all, but just the fine hairs of a tree that grow on its roots. It's like the hairs on a tree are just fine root hairs. He gives the guy a seat in the back of the room so he can watch the giant being ripped apart. He thinks that the fairy king rerouted all his magic away from his own offense and poured it into protecting the little girl. But there's nothing he can do
