In this chapter, we learn that the father and son have been quarreling for a long time. The father is upset that his son is being blamed for the deaths of his wife and daughter-in-law. He tells his son that he will have to kill the demons himself if they find out that he has been responsible for their deaths. The son, however, is determined to take revenge on his father for his son's death. He asks his father to give the child back to him first. He also tells his father that he is bored of the whole thing. He says that he still has a long way ahead of him in his quest to vanquish the demons. When the father tells him that the people of Coland are losing their faith in the demons, the son says that they are not worthy of the help they receive from them. He then tells the father that they should not rush into the matter because he and his son have saved many lives. He praises the father's courage in rescuing his son from the devil. He and the son then discuss the fact that they still wish to be holy knights and capture each other. The two men then tell each other that they will have revenge on them for the death of their loved ones. They then discuss how they have come to know the names of 107 Elizabeths, and how they are going to eat their soul and heal their wounds. They decide that they need to hurry up to Coland and find a way to rescue the girl.
