This chapter opens with a soliloquy by Eliza in which she explains that she has come to destroy the demons as goddesses. She says that she will welcome the punishment that they will give her if she destroys them. She adds that her brother, Elizabeth, her sister, and many other comrades have all died by her own hand. Eliza asks the others to help her in her mission. They hurry out of the room, and Eliza wonders if they are all okay. She tells the others that she is worried, too, and that they need to hurry.
