In this chapter, Eliza tells her sister that she has been granted permission by the King to take leave of absence from the Boar's Head Inn until she can find out the truth about the King's death. Eliza says that she will return to her sister soon. She tells Eliza that she heard her sister go out in the evening wearing a lady's clothes in order to wait for the return of the King. Elize says that if the King finds out, he will blow his top. She says that the King usually plays hooky with his servants, and she wonders why the captain seems to be acting a little off. She adds that she knows the Captain from a long time ago, when she made him hers. The Captain never came back, and Eliza's sister lost her memories of him. In their latest battle, the Captain saved the dying girl.
