This chapter opens with a brief description of the man named escanor. He is a member of the Chaos family, and he has been imprisoned in purgatory for his part in the conspiracy against the Church. He has been able to summon his own power, which he calls the "zeldris" or "the and zeldes" . He tells the reader that he has seen the power in purgatory, but that it is only a "pervasive sensa" , and that he is in a "whole other dimension" compared to his own good. He says that he cannot believe that the demon lord has survived his attacks on him, even though he is being attacked by him.
