This chapter opens with a soliloquy by Desdemona, in which she laments the fact that she and her companions have lost their chance to defeat the "great galland" . She laments that she has lost her chance to destroy the "secret force field" of the "perfect cube" , and laments how lucky she is to be standing before the "Great galland." She is sure that she will die before she can defeat him, but she is also certain that her companions will survive.
