In this short scene, Desdemona tells her son, Graviras, that she will not let him keep the promise she made to him that she would never betray him. She also tells him that if he does not take responsibility for his actions, he will not be able to live long enough to pass on the knowledge he has gained from his father. He tells her that he will always be watching over him, and he will never let her keep that promise. He also says that the voice that he hears is not his own, but that of a demon. He says that he would have been in trouble if he had kept his old form, and that the face of the demon is the same as the one he saw in his dream. He promises to crush all of them in one go, and says that his strength is not up to the task. He compares his strength to that of the captain, who is 30,000 times stronger than he was when they first met.
