In this short scene, Volger and Desdemona discuss the situation at hand. Volger is worried that his armor is going to melt and that he's about to burn. He's also worried that the lake Percy is about to be hit by a direct shot from the gate of the west gate. He doesn't want to go down there, because he knows it'll be a lot of smoke and snow. He also worries that the smoke will burn his flesh. The two men agree that Volger's darkness has swallowed the sun, and that his full-scale counter attack has repelled all physical attacks. They also agree that the sun is still up, and Volger still has plenty of time to prepare for the next battle.
