The magic lake in Salisbury, ten miles west of the town of Carlisle, is said to be the "most magically enriched" place in all of Britain. It is believed that the princess of the lake bestowed upon a human king a mysterious sword. The narrator tells us that the quarrel between the demon lord and the god of war is still going on 3,000 years later. He says that he feels nothing while he was under the god's command. The seven deadly sins, he says, got them to where they are now. He plans to throw all of them in his face.
