In this chapter, Haruka tries to get her to talk to her about her day at school. She tells her that it feels good, and that she wishes that she could tell her all about it. Haruka tells her not to come into the house while she's doing this, and she tells her to leave that to her. She's glad that Haruka is tired after work, because she thinks it's a good thing that he's taking care of his mom. She also tells Haruka that rikkun has a job now, but that he wants to come to visit her today. She says that he got a letter from her when he was assigned to literature, though, and he still writes letters to her for advice. He's been a student at college in the U.S. for three years now, and they've gotten in touch with each other. They've even been in touch before, when Haruka was in high school. When Haruka first heard that she was going out with Tachibana, she was shocked. She released two or three novels a year, and even tried her hand at script-writing. She even tried to write a movie script while she was doing all of this. When she heard that he was going to college in America, she wasn't able to believe it. She was shocked when she found out that he had gone out with his grandma while he was at school, releasing books and doing all kinds of other things. She thinks that she'd still be able to repay her grandma if she gave her her life, but she doesn't think that would be enough. She mentions that her grandma is coming to visit the next day, and Haruka says that her hair has gotten really long, which makes her wonder if she looks like her grandma when she comes to visit tomorrow.
