In this chapter, the protagonist, who is now a year old, is in the middle of a conversation with his friend, Subaru Shusaki, a member of the "nerd club" , when he is interrupted by the ghost of his dead mother. The ghost tells him that his mother is always watching over him, and that he should be "sides" with the ghost even if there is no ghost present. The protagonist, however, is not concerned about the ghost's presence; he has been "totally fine" with "spooky stuff" since his mother's death, and he is not afraid of ghosts anymore. He thanks the ghost for helping him out of the haunted house, but he is disappointed that he did not get to go out with the other members of the club.
