The chapter opens with a conversation between Stepbrother and Stepister. Stepbrother tells his stepsister that he's still traumatized by the events of the previous chapter. He tells her that he still wants her to tell him what's going on in her life. He says that when he was in a coma, his soul was sucked out of his body. But she came back to finish her book, and now she's back to being a normal person. He asks her what she wants to talk about, and she tells him that she doesn't know the guy. She says that he has a friend, and that she thinks it's disloyal for him to break up with her. She also says that if he and another girl had broken up first, then who cares about him? Stepbrother says that's just not fair, and he feels bad for him, too. He's got a book coming out next week, but he can't get it out yet.
