About This Chapter
"A dangerous night" , the narrator tells us, is one of the most important chapters of the novel. It's the one where we get to see what it's like to be in love with someone, and what it feels like to have a crush on someone. We're also introduced to some of the characters we've never met before. The narrator's first name is Alphonse, and he's a big brother to the narrator. He's also a big sister to the rest of the gang, which is why we're so excited to see him in this chapter. He tells us that he finally spoke to his sister, and she's so happy that she finally got to tell him that they're "family" . She's even more excited to hear that she'll be getting to meet Natsuo, and that he'll get to meet her as well. She tells him that she doesn't want to break up with him, because she thinks they'll never be able to live together as close as they are now. She also says that even if they do break up, it won't make any difference, because they still have the same feelings for each other. She says that she wants to see how the two of them feel about each other's feelings, so that she can figure out what to do about it. She wants to know if they've made up, and if they haven't made up yet, because that means that they are no longer mad at each other anymore. She asks the narrator why he is staring at her, and the narrator says that he was looking at her because he wanted to tell her how he felt on the trip. He says that's because he was thinking about telling her about his feelings for her, so she'd be oblivious to the fact that part of herself is through cute. He wants to be a little "passer-like" and take her out during the day, or hold her hand, and so on. We get a little taste of what the narrator is talking about
