About This Chapter
The next morning, Roxane and Wilde talk about how much they've improved since the previous night. Wilde says that he's doing everything he can to get Roxane to come back to his room. Wilde tells Roxane that she can be depressed sometimes, but that it's better to stay in bed and not rush to get out of it. He says that if you're stuck in your own head, you won't be able to move forward. Roxane agrees, saying that she's going to try to be Wilde's "lifeline." Wilde says he'll try to write a short story every week, which he hasn't done before. He's also going to be more strict with his journal entries. Wilde thanks Roxane for being such a good friend, and says that she won the Literary Award last year, which is a big deal. Wilde admits that he doesn't know if he can keep writing, but he does know that Roxane is a bookworm. Wilde and Wilde drink together, and Wilde gives Roxane a bottle of wine. Wilde is relieved that his sister and brother-in-law are getting along so well.
