In this chapter, we learn that the photo of Natsuo's crime was leaked to a writer for the weekly magazine, and that the man who was convicted of stabbing his brother was in contact with the men who wrote the article. The man, however, denied the crime and was sent to prison. One of the young teachers at the school has confessed to the men that they were offering money for information about the crime. The men are shocked at the news, but the narrator swears that he did it for his brother.
