About This Chapter
It's late, and the two of them have decided to stay up all night to talk. They're not sure what they're going to talk about, but they agree to stay until midnight. When they get back to the bed, they find that the girl is crying because she's been cooped up in her room for the whole day. She's sorry, she says, but she doesn't blame him for being so upset. She says that she was just crying because he hugged her so tightly because he was scared or something. She thinks that's why he always hugged her that way, and she starts crying again. She wonders why he would ask her anything for a day. He says that he's not going to listen to anything she says for the rest of the day, so he'll just drop it. She asks him what he was doing, and he says that they were going out for a walk, and that he lost count of the number of times they went out. He asks her if she has a fever or something, and when she says no, he wonders if it would have been different now that they've done it before. He thanks her for putting up this time, and thanks for writing him a letter.
