The chapter opens with Hiroshi talking to Hiroshi about his writing. Hiroshi tells Hiroshi that he's been working on a book, and Hiroshi says that he hasn't spoken to anyone from the club about it. He also says that Hiroshi has been sleeping through classes, and that's not Hiroshi's fault. He says that if Hiroshi wants to talk about anything, he can talk to him. Hiroyuki says that his writing is doing well, but that he still doesn't say anything to his friends. He's also worried about his girl friend, who has been doing all the work for him. He tells her that he has one more class to go to, and he found a job teaching a kid to be Hiroshi. He talks about how he made new friends with a publisher who comes into the store, and how he has been talking to him on the phone all the time. He asks Hiroshi if he'll be going out with him, and she says that she's going out on a date. She's debating whether to go out on the date or not, but Hiroshi thinks it's the right thing to do, since he'd never go out with a girl. He points out that he never met a girl in his life that he didn't want to get married to, so why would he do that to a girl? Hiroshi asks him how he can't trust him, since they're both in the same club, and since Hiroshi is the one who sent him the date, he wonders how he could have trusted him.
