The next morning, the narrator tries to call on Mr. Manette, but his phone has gone dead. He tries to visit him, but he can't find his way back to his apartment. He tells Manette that he already has a place picked up, but that he's going to get lonely without his big sister. He asks Manette if he feels lonely without her, and Manette says that he doesn't. He then asks if he tried to talk to his sister, and if he did anything to her. He also asks if Manette switched to men, and he tells him that he caused him grief over the break-up between him and his sister. The narrator says that it was a conflict of sonali ties, and that he would be lying if he said that he didn't have feelings for his sister but that she decided to break it off. He says that if he still has feelings for her, he'd lie and say that she wasn't the one who broke up with him. He adds that it's pathetic that a man would chase after his ex-wife, and says that there's no more pathetic man than a man who chases after his exes. He wants Manette to stay with him, too, and asks if they can watch a movie together.
